In the company of a supportive community, we will nurture ourselves and each other as we find our way through our grief for what is happening on the planet. Using the Work That Reconnects we will reawaken our love and passion for life and nature as well as learn the practical skills of Self Compassion to respond with kindness to our own needs and the needs of the Earth.
We will be supported by the natural beauty of Bali and our retreat center’s focus on Tri Hita Karana. If you wish to develop inner strength and compassion to make a positive impact on the environment and all living beings then this 5-day retreat in the heart of Bali is your transformative journey!

Where:
Subak Tabola Hotel (go to hotel website)- This authentic Balinese style hotel is set in an unforgettable location with stunning views of the rice fields and Sideman valley. It comprises 14 guestrooms, including a family suite; an open-air restaurant and a swimming pool, all nestled within a lush tropical garden.

Participants Will:
  • Reconnect to themselves, the Earth and our fellow humans in a beautiful setting.
  • Practice the Interactive tools of the “Work That Reconnects”, mindfulness , self-compassion and compassion for the Earth
  • Experience Balinese cultural workshops and learn about the Balinese life philosophy: “Tri Hita Karana”, bringing happiness through harmonious connections between humans, God, and nature.
  • Move through their pain and the pain of the world to rediscover our passion and love for the living earth, humans and the Great Turning towards the future we want for future generations.
  • Find their role, in these challenging times, empowered by Active Hope

This retreat welcomes individuals from all backgrounds who are passionate about environmental healing and personal growth. It will be an opportunity for those who have experience with Self Compassion, Meditation, and the Work That Reconnects to go deeper. And for those with no prior experience, it will be an opportunity for deep healing and learning.
CO-FACILITATORS

Constance Washburn – Educator, facilitator and trainer in the “Work That Reconnects”. A Community Dharma leader and Yogi who brings years of nature connection, theater and creative arts work to transformational retreats. Founding Director of the Spiral Journey International Facilitator Development Program and Weaver of the Work That Reconnects Network. A native New Yorker but now a long term resident of Northern California on unceded Coast Miwok land. www.constancewashburn.com

Randolph Oudemans – Founder of Now.Here., an organization that promotes personal & global well-being by unleashing the superpower power of compassion; author of Treasure Earth: A Guide to Healing Ourselves While We Heal the Earth; facilitator of workshops/retreats on self-compassion/compassion for the Earth. Raised in both the USA and Indonesia he has lived for many years in Singapore and Bali.

Any Sulistyowati – A native of Java and a recent graduate of the Spiral Journey International Facilitator Development Program is a full time facilitator. She facilitates and mentors students, communities, and NGOs so that they can have a clear idea of what they need to do as individuals or as groups. She is a systems thinker and participated in the Donella Meadows Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD) fellowship in 1998-2000 and became a LEAD Facilitator. Currently, she is completing her PhD.

AN OFFERING OF ADDITIONAL FREE LOCAL WORKSHOPS

To support local activists who are working for the culture, the children and the environment we will be offering workshops for NGOs in Jakarta and Bali for low cost or free. These workshops will introduce the tools of the Work That Reconnects and Self Compassion to help the staff and students deal with the pressures of climate change, social inequity and … all the other stuff that is happening in the world!!!
